Valsts prezidents: mūsdienu kapitālisma modelī jāiekļauj sociālie un vides aspekti
Today, while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, President of Latvia Egils Levits took part in a discussion ‘Growing Europe: Economic Vitality of Central and Eastern Europe’ together with two other panellists.

President Levits focused his remarks on the so-called ‘Three Seas Initiative’ which will connect Northern and Central Europe. Initiative is expected to benefit the economies of partner countries and improve regional connectivity. Egils Levits underlined that Rail Baltica railway infrastructure project is also important element of this initiative.

President of Latvia also joined other world leaders for a discussion on the global role of Europe ‘An Ascendant Europe’. This discussion focused on Europe’s competitiveness. During the discussion, Egils Levits pointed out that the existing capitalistic model must be modified and economic policy should have stronger social and environmental dimension.
