Valsts prezidents darba vizītē apmeklēs ASV un Franciju
President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will visit the United States of Latvia from April 2 to April 7, and he will visit France on April 8 and April 9.

During the visit, the President of Latvia will participate in the summit of the Presidents of the three Baltic States and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in Washington DC on Tuesday, April 3.

“At the summit dedicated to the centenary of the Baltic States, adopting a declaration is planned, in which we expect a strong political message regarding US support for the security and defence of the Baltic States. During the summit, outlining the future cooperation between the Baltic States and the USA, especially in the field of security and defence, as well as cooperation in economics, energy, education, and other fields is planned,” emphasised Raimonds Vējonis.

After the summit in Washington DC, the President of Latvia will visit San Francisco and the Silicon Valley, where he will meet with social media companies Facebook and Google. A visit to the LIAA Representative Office in the USA and meetings with Latvian businesspersons operating in the Silicon Valley as well as representatives of the local Latvian diaspora in San Francisco and New York are planned during the working visit.

At the end of the working visit to the United States, the President of Latvia will attend the National Basketball League match between New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks dedicated to the Centenary of Latvia.

On Monday, April 9, during a working visit to France, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will meet with President of France Emmanuel Macron.

“It is important for Latvia to be a part of an active Europe, a part of the future debate. The meeting between the Presidents of the three Baltic States and President of France Emmanuel Macron will give us an immediate opportunity to engage in a debate on the future of Europe,” noted Raimonds Vējonis.

At the end of the working visit to France, the Presidents of the three Baltic States and President of France Emmanuel Macron will open the exhibition “Symbolism in the Art of the Baltic States” dedicated to the centenaries of the Baltic States in the Musée d'Orsay, Museum of Modern Art.
