On July 26, President of Latvia Egils Levits arrived in Indra on a regional working visit to Latgale to continue addressing issues of media policy and information space. During the visit, the President of Latvia highlighted the development of TV and radio broadcasting in the border areas and talked to locals about topics of interest to them. While in Latgale, Mr Levits met with participants of the World Latvian Youth Camp 2x2 in Višķi, as well as paid tribute to the Old Believers’ cultural and historical heritage in Slutišķi.
One should note that Indra is one of the places in Latvia that Mr Levits mentioned in his inaugural address on 8 July 2019. The President of Latvia plans to visit other places mentioned in his speech in the nearest future, for instance, the President of Latvia plans to visit Mazirbe and the events of the Liv Festival on August 3.
