On 29 July President of Latvia Egils Levits issued a Certificate of Merit to art historian and painter Imants Lancmanis to mark the 80th birthday of the restorer of Rundāle Palace.
The President of Latvia has appreciated Lancmanis’ life's work in reviving Rundāle Palace, which is a major contribution to the history of the state of Latvia: “Your intellectual contribution has vividly spotlighted the Latvian and European code underlying our culture.”
The Certificate of Merit will be presented to Lancmanis in autumn of this year.
