Raimonds Vējonis
Valsts prezidents: Latvija bija, ir un būs valsts, kur tur godā dažādas kultūras un tradīcijas
“Understanding and cultivating one’s cultural values and traditions strengthen our self-confidence by making our country stronger. Latvia has been, is, and will be a country, where different cultures and traditions are respected,” outlined President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis when addressing the audience of the Peoples’ Day “Break of Day” on Thursday, 5 July 2018.

The President of Latvia noted that engagement, acting, and amateurism formed a culture and a community. “It is not a duty, but it is our choice that forms us today and will shape the coming generations,” stated the President of Latvia.

On Thursday, the Peoples’ Day “Break of Day” takes place in the Vermane Garden throughout the day, where the various ethnic communities living in the territory of Latvia introduce the traditions of their nations to the audience, as well as the Latvian artistic ensembles living here and coming from abroad supplement the festive mood of the occasion.
