Valsts prezidents Egils Levits

On 10 November, President of Latvia Egils Levits had a remote meeting with epidemiologist, National Health Service vaccination coordination expert Ņikita Trojanskis and physicist Aigars Langins. Meeting focused on the model for forecasting the impact of community spread and containment of virus pandemics jointly developed by the two experts. They mentioned the positive impact of the lockdown and the accompanying restrictions.

President of Latvia expressed his belief that government decisions should be based on predictive modelling approach developed by these experts: ‘The evidence-based forecasting model developed by you is extremely valuable. It should aid the politicians in taking political decisions by making them a lot easier. Thank you for everything that you have done to make public health stronger!’
