Teachers play a vital role in our society. They shape the future generations – their skills and knowledge. They ensure the continuity of our national values.
Being a teacher is a mission.
As we celebrate the Teachers’ Day today, we all remember our teachers. My teachers had major impact on my life. So, we should all thank our teachers for what they have done for us.
I would also like to remind those who will be elected to the next Saeima that they must fulfil the promises they have given before elections. Education must remain our national priority. Teachers deserve a decent pay and more balanced workload.
Latvia has plenty of experienced, creative and wise teachers who continue to serve their mission despite all the hardship.
