Toms Torims, External Science Adviser to the President of Latvia, is senior engineer in Accelerator Technologies at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). He is responsible for the development of innovative particle accelerator technologies and leads large-scale international scientific projects, shaping the strategic directions of cutting-edge research and development. Previously, Toms Torims served as a professor at Riga Technical University, a research associate at CERN, and Latvia's representative to the organisation. In addition to his work as a professor and science diplomacy, T. Torims conducts research in the field of the latest production technologies, with a particular focus on the application of particle accelerators in medicine and industry. He has experience in business, public administration, science and research, as well as in the work of international institutions. Prof. Torims has led a number of international research projects and has been active in major scientific collaborations. He is fluent in five languages.
