History of the nation is part of the nation state’s foundations. From generation to generation, history has been the framework for nations as communities consolidated around values. Better overall historical awareness empowers and unites people. History contains accounts of a nation’s collective progress in the past, also depicting core values that have crystallised and united people over time.
Discussion hosted by Presidential Chancery together with the Association of History and Social Science Teachers at the Riga Castle will attempt to highlight the importance of history lessons in disseminating knowledge about values instilled in Satversme and how to achieve better learning outcomes across Latvian schools
