Dear members of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry!
I cordially welcome you to the first in-person members' meeting since 2020!
We are in a world of dynamic events. Both the crises we are going through and the opportunities that are opening up require us to be bold in our decisions.
However, there is more to be done to make us stronger and more resilient in the face of difficulties.
It takes a determination to support each other.
And that is what the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the cooperation within it have served to achieve.
The last few years have not been easy for you, entrepreneurs.
I really appreciate the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in supporting both small and large businesses in regions and cities.
You have provided information on growth opportunities in foreign markets.
You have analysed market developments in different sectors.
You have highlighted topics on the overall development of the Latvian economy.
I would also like to thank the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its members for the "Good for Ukraine" campaign. This has been another contribution to Latvia's great and selfless support for Ukraine.
As a member organisation, you play an important role in shaping Latvia's business environment.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides a platform for both business discussions and discussions with policy makers.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been a stable and reliable partner.
The Government has defined economic transformation as its goal.
Such a transformation will only be possible on the basis of new knowledge.
And this knowledge must make its way into production and the product or service provided.
It is about harnessing the power of digital technologies and improving the digital skills of employees.
This means higher productivity and, therefore, higher competitiveness.
I have also called on the new government to think seriously about how to improve the business environment, how to support start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises.
There are significant resources available for business development in the coming years. We need to know how to use them.
Thank you, each and every one of you, for the work you are doing to strengthen the prosperity of your business and entire Latvia.
