On 8 October, President of Latvia invited poet Knuts Skujenieks, lawyer and political scientist Tālavs Jundis, professor of philosophy Maija Kūle and art historian and painter Imants Lancmanis to the Riga Castle for the presentation of Certificate of Merit. Mārtiņš Brauns was another recipient of Presidential Certificate of Merit. His certificate will be delivered to composer personally.
President of Latvia presented the certificates of merit and underlined: ‘I am honoured to present this Certificate of Merit to you as a token of President’s special appreciation. This certificate is a recognition of your love for Latvia, loyalty to our country, professional acuity and input in making Latvia and its people better.’
