On 13 August, President Edgars Rinkēvičs, met with the leadership of the “Farmers’ Saeima” association, the Latvian Agricultural Organisations Cooperation Council, the Latvian Farmers’ Federation, the Latvian Organic Agriculture association, and the Latvian Agricultural Cooperatives association at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, representatives of the farmers’ organisations provided an overview of the current situation in the sector, taking into account the damage caused by recent heavy rainfall and its impact on various branches of agriculture.
